Taunting Mallard wrap

It's been a while since I've posted a recipe. A while ago I had a Mock Duck sandwich that I had to try to make myself.

I found a 10 oz. can of Companion Mock Duck that I fried up in a little olive oil just enough to get a crust on it.

I put it on a wrap with some lettuce, tomato, sliced red pepper and a Thia peanut dressing.

It was filling but not heavy. I don't have any dietary information but it can't be bad.

Here's an alternate post to the Husband 1.0 post from yesterday.

Dear Tech Support:

Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0. I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activity. Applications such as Poker Night 6.2, Football 4.9, Hunting Elk and Deer 9.9.
I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 HAPPY while attempting to run my favorite applications. I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0, but the uninstall doesn't work on Wife 1.0. Please help!

Thanks,
A Troubled User

(KEEP READING)

Help Desk REPLY:

Dear Troubled User:

This is a very common problem that men complain about.

Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0, thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING!!! It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 7.0. It is impossible to uninstall, or purge the program files from the system once installed.

You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed to not allow this. Look in your Wife 1.0 manual under Warnings-Alimony-Child Support. I recommend that you keep Wife1.0 and work on improving the situation. I suggest installing the background application "Yes Dear" to alleviate software augmentation.

The best course of action is to enter the command C:APOLOGIZE because ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will return to normal anyway. Wife 1.0 is a great program, but it tends to be very high maintenance. Wife 1.0 comes with several support programs, such as Clean and Sweep 3.0, Cook It 1.5 and Do Bills 4.2.

However, be very careful how you use these programs. Improper use will cause the system to launch the program Nag Nag 9.5. Once this happens, the only way to improve the performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional software. I recommend Flowers 2.1 and Diamonds 5.0 ! WARNING!!! DO NOT, under any circumstances, install Secretary With Short Skirt 3.3. This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and will cause irreversible damage to the operating system.

Best of luck,
Tech Support

You scored as Dante Alighieri
According to you most of humanity will spend at least some of their afterlife in hell. You have a high likelihood of being exiled, but anyone as bloody fucking romantic as you deserves what they get. You have an exceptional moral code, overshadowed by the fact that you yourself cannot uphold it.

Your existence bears a definite irony, although of fairly Christian morality, many pagans, satanists, communists, and intellectuals admire you and your works for all the wrong reasons.

Also, the brighest star in your sky is never going to be your lover...

It takes a lot of grief to be the cartographer of hell.

And No we don't plan on getting married anytime soon.

INSTALLING A HUSBAND

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance - particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NFL 5.0, NASCAR 3.0, and GOLF CLUBS 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?

Signed,

Desperate

-----------------------

Dear Desperate:

First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an Operating System. Please enter the command: 'I Thought You Loved Me.exe' and try to download Tears 6.2 and don't forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.

If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

But remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Passive Aggressive Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly beta interface with circular reference loop capability.

Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources).

Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Food 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 6.9.

Good luck,

Tech Support

Well I'll be damned

A year and a half ago my sisters cat went missing. She put up a reward for it and left food out. This was also in the middle of winter too. After two or three months she moved on and got another cat. She got a call last Saturday that her cat showed up at the Golden Valley Humain society. My sister had a chip put in him before he ran away and after a year and a half it brought him back to her. My sister lives in the uptown area and the cat was found in New Breighton, twelve miles away. After a year and a half I suppose he managed to wander that far. He seemed to be healthy and well.

I was surprised. I've never had a cat come back not matter what that song said.

Old Mister Johnson had troubles of his own
He had a yellow cat which wouldn't leave its home;
He tried and he tried to give the cat away,
He gave it to a man goin' far, far away.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

The man around the corner swore he'd kill the cat on sight,
He loaded up his shotgun with nails and dynamite;
He waited and he waited for the cat to come around,
Ninety seven pieces of the man is all they found.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

He gave it to a little boy with a dollar note,
Told him for to take it up the river in a boat;
They tied a rope around its neck, it must have weighed a pound
Now they drag the river for a little boy that's drowned.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

He gave it to a man going up in a balloon,
He told him for to take it to the man in the moon;
The balloon came down about ninety miles away,
Where he is now, well I dare not say.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

He gave it to a man going way out West,
Told him for to take it to the one he loved the best;
First the train hit the curve, then it jumped the rail,
Not a soul was left behind to tell the gruesome tale.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

The cat it had some company one night out in the yard,
Someone threw a boot-jack, and they threw it mighty hard;
It caught the cat behind the ear, she thought it rather slight,
When along came a brick-bat and knocked the cat out of sight

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

Away across the ocean they did send the cat at last,
Vessel only out a day and making water fast;
People all began to pray, the boat began to toss,
A great big gust of wind came by and every soul was lost.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

On a telegraph wire, sparrows sitting in a bunch,
The cat was feeling hungry, thought she'd like 'em for a lunch;
Climbing softly up the pole, and when she reached the top,
Put her foot upon the electric wire, which tied her in a knot.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

The cat was a possessor of a family of its own,
With seven little kittens till there came a cyclone;
Blew the houses all apart and tossed the cat around,
The air was full of kittens, and not a one was ever found.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

The atom bomb fell just the other day,
The H-Bomb fell in the very same way;
Russia went, England went, and then the U.S.A.
The human race was finished without a chance to pray.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

The worst trip home from work, so far.

I had my bike at work and I planned on biking home. So of course it starts to rain. It rained and it got windy enough for me to take the shuttle to the mall.

So I had to wait fifteen minutes for the shuttle to show up. The driver was of middle eastern descent but he had a christian radio station playing a little loud.

When I got to the Megamall I got turned around and ended up on the other side of the mall to the transit station. Rather then walk around the building I slogged through Nickelodeon land or whatever they call it now.

The train was full of twins fans and I wasn't able to sit down.

On the bus home there was a mother with three kids who she yelled at constantly while they ignored her.

The whole trip took two hour when it usually takes one.

My weekend

Friday cressida42 and I ordered take out and sat in with some telly.

The plan saturday was she would go to work and I would catch a bus home then bike to work to meet her and get my exercise. I live in the Uptown Area and I work in Eagan, about 14 miles away if you use 35W. I took the green way to the lake street train station and took it most of the way to the mega mall. I got a little confuse around the entrance to 494 and ended up jumping a fence. I eventually made it but it took almost twice as long as I thought.

Cressida, R and I hooked up and we all went to the MISFITs Picnic and we had a really good time. I appreciated the boca burgers several times and the corn on the cob.

We ran a couple of errands and then watched some more telly. the bike ride and the picnic really knocked me out.

Sunday we slept in a bit but cressida got a call from her dad inviting us to a Denny's breakfast. It wasn't what I usually do sunday mornings but it was very nice.

Cressida wasn't feeling really well and I wanted to visit Mom and take a walk. She dropped me off and headed home.

Mom seems to be under the weather too. He "digestive" problem is back. She feels that it is a reaction to some of her pain meds. I couldn't say if she was wrong or not. I'm sure all the stuff she's been taking doesn't react well to each other. I helped her out a bit and then headed home.

I took a nap before my walk. I was interrupted by a cab call that I didn't make. On our errands I picked up an obnoxious Father's day card for my brother. I decided to walk to his place. It's about three miles away then I thought I would swing by the lakes on the way back. I walked down to 46th street and then I noticed the bridge was out and had to walk down to 42nd and cross there. I made it down to his house, dropped off the card then went home. Because of the detour I managed to walk 7.61 miles all together. I wanted to go to bed early but ended up goofing around until eleven thirty and Cordilia woke me up around 4 am as well.

Although I didn't sleep well I had a pretty good day.

Well that's a switch

Mom had an angiogram several weeks ago and she has since talked to her doctor about how to treat the results. I was told second hand that there was some blockage but when I finally talked to Mom about it she said that the doctor said that they didn't need to treat it. That didn't make sense to me so I called her cardiologist.

There was the dance around getting permission to tell me what was going on but eventually I got through. There was some calcification in her arteries but not enough to warrant treatment beyond continuation of mom's meds for blood pressure.

From the sound of it my cardiac condition was more serious then hers. I'm taking four times as my Lasinopril then her. Kinda puts things in perspective.

P.S. By the way my heart problem has been fixed.
